The Key To Your Breakthrough

Overcoming Fear and Procrastination in Pursuit of Health and Fitness Goals

Today, I want to have a heart-to-heart conversation about something that I believe holds many of us back from achieving our health and fitness goals: fear. Yes, that uncomfortable, nagging feeling that creeps up when we confront the reality of our situation. It’s time to stop running from our truth and start getting raw and real with ourselves.

Have you ever found yourself at an entrance, encountering a door meant to be pulled open, only to realize you’ve been pushing against it, oblivious to the momentary lapse in awareness? Followed by an internal facepalm as the light comes on and your brain is firing on all cylinders again? Once corrected, the seemingly immovable door in front of you opens effortlessly and you’re able to walk right through.

For too long, I found myself trapped in a cycle of setting ambitious health and fitness goals, only to be derailed by procrastination and self-doubt. It took me a while to realize that the root of this procrastination wasn’t laziness or lack of motivation – it was fear. I was pushing away those emotions I didn’t want to acknowledge instead of pulling them in so I could overcome the barrier they presented.

Fear of failure. Fear of hard work. Fear of facing the uncomfortable truths about myself and my habits. These fears were like invisible barriers, blocking me from making progress and achieving the results I desired. But here’s the thing – acknowledging these fears is the first step towards overcoming them.

It’s not easy to admit that fear plays a significant role in our lives. It requires vulnerability and honesty – qualities that many of us shy away from. But by facing our fears head-on, we can begin to take ownership of our actions and pave the way for real change.

So, what does it mean to take ownership? It means becoming aware of who we are – the good, the bad, and the ugly – and accepting responsibility for our choices and behaviors. It means recognizing that procrastination is often a symptom of deeper fears and insecurities, and actively working to address those underlying issues.

For me, taking ownership meant acknowledging my fear of failure and my tendency to procrastinate when things got tough. It meant recognizing that I had been using excuses like “I’ll start tomorrow” or “I’m too busy right now” to avoid facing the hard work and dedication required to reach my goals.

But once I took ownership of these truths, something remarkable happened. My fear, while still very real, had no power over me. I felt a weight lift off my shoulders, and I gained a newfound sense of clarity and purpose. Instead of seeing obstacles as insurmountable barriers, I began to view them as opportunities for growth and self-improvement.

Of course, overcoming fear and procrastination is an ongoing journey – one that requires patience, perseverance, and a willingness to embrace discomfort. But with each small step forward, I’m inching closer to becoming the best version of myself – both physically and mentally.

So, if you’re reading this and struggling with your own health and fitness goals, I want you to know that you’re not alone. It’s okay to feel afraid, to feel overwhelmed, to feel unsure of where to begin. But don’t let fear hold you back from realizing your full potential.

Take ownership of who you are. Embrace your truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. And remember, the only way to truly conquer fear is to face it head-on.

As simple as it sounds… Just PULL.

Here’s to a journey of self-discovery, growth, and success.
